The Top Five AI Trends in the Next Decade

Artificial Intelligence has touched every industry, with its power only growing further. Currently, its applications include marketing, banking, finance, agriculture, healthcare, gaming, space exploration, automotive, social media, and creative sectors, just to name a few.

In our latest blog we delve in to the top five artificial intelligence trends that are set to disrupt and manifest in the next decade.

AI and personalisation

Driven by the success of tech giants like Amazon, Alibaba, and Google, and their ability to deliver personalised experiences and recommendations to customers, AI continues to allow providers of products and services to efficiently project a view of customers and their habits in real-time. By interacting through the internet and mobile apps, AI is swiftly learning how its predictions can fit customer wants and needs with increasing accuracy. It is highly likely that an increasing number of industries will begin to roll out solutions that offer personalised customer experiences at scale.

AI and cybersecurity

As hacking, phishing, and ransomware attacks become more and more sophisticated, particularly as the coronavirus pandemic progresses, technology will play an even bigger role in protecting individuals and businesses from cyber threats. AI can be used to spot signs that digital activity or transactions follow patterns that are likely to be indicators of a cybercriminal’s activity. AI can then raise alarms before cybersecurity defences can be breached and sensitive data compromised.

AI and media

The influence of AI on entertainment media is prominent today, and it is only likely to increase. For example, in the gaming industry, AI will continue to be used to create challenging, human-like opponents for players to battle, and, AI will automatically adjust gameplay and the level of difficulty so that videogames can continue to offer a challenge for gamers of all skillsets. AI also excels in creating soundscapes for listener’s tastes. For example, smart playlists on services like Spotify and its ‘Daily Mix’ which is unique to each user’s listening habits, or Google Music that matches tunes and tempo to the mood and pace of listener’s everyday lives.

AI and business processes

Robotic Process Automation will soon free employees from the monotony of time-consuming but necessary administrative work. This means teams in the near future will have more time to spend on complex, strategic, creative, and interpersonal tasks. The first robots in the workplace were mainly involved with automating manual tasks, such as manufacturing and production lines. However, software-based robots are beginning to take on the repetitive but essential work that we carry out daily on computers, such as filling in forms, generating reports, producing documentation and instructions. These are all tasks that can be automated by machines that study what we do and learn to do it in a faster, more streamlined manner.

AI and data

As technology evolves and enables better access to higher quality information, accurate data has become increasingly available. For example, accurate data has advanced to the stage where car manufacturers, and others working on the development of autonomous vehicles, can gain thousands of hours of driving data without vehicles leaving the lab, leading to huge reductions in cost as well as increases in the quality of data that can be gathered. In the coming years, the world will see an increase in the accuracy and availability of real-life simulations, which in turn will lead to more powerful and accurate AI.

We don’t know about you, but we can’t wait to see what the next era holds for the I.T. and Tech world.

Got your own thoughts? We’d love to hear from you.
